Hiking to Agios Simeon & the Hidden Trail Network

Above Doukades lies the stunning Agios Simeon Monastery, built on a steep rock overlooking the village. You can hike there directly from Doukades:

  • The trail is relatively easy, suitable even for beginners
  • Perfect for a half-day experience

From there, a network of trails connects:

  • Doukades with Lakones and nearby villages
  • The peak of Heraklis (highest point in the area)
  • Paths leading to Angelokastro, a 15th-century Byzantine fortress
You can also combine your day with a visit to the Olive Oil Museum in Vistonas.
